Very much looking forward to checking out this new Ducati Scrambler. It seems like they’re going back to what the Monster started out as – the simplest interpretation of a motorcycle, Ducati style. I’m hoping this will be a good one to modify into a proper surfmoto machine. But even if it’s not, it looks to be a whole lotta fun!

Ducati 1198sp EVR Clutch Basket & Plates Removal and Installation
I couldn’t find any video showing how to install a new clutch basket and plates on the Ducati 1198 with the slipper clutch so I decided to make one. While I was at it, I also showed removal. This isn’t a complete clutch replacement, just the clutch basket (aka clutch housing) and the new plate. […]

Harbor Freight Lift – Ducati Issue
I finally got a motorcycle lift. After much research I settled on the Harbor Freight lift for the same reason it’s become the favorite lift – value. It’s exactly the same as the Black Widow available from Discountramps.com, but for the price. And it’s less than half the price of anything else. If I had […]

Restarting Baja
It’s time. It’s been five years since my first surfmoto trip to Baja, and it’s been five years since my last surfmoto trip to Baja. Everyone wonders where the time went, but for me, it’s no mystery. Starting and running a new business took up much of the time. Spare time went to 5-day rides to […]

Your Last Surf Trip
(Work in progress.) Will you know when it’s your last surf trip? Will you know before you book your flight? Before you commit to the week in Baja? While packing? Unpacking your boards at your destination anxious to paddle out to get the travel grime off and just get wet? While standing at water’s edge thinking […]

How to Load a Motorcycle into your Truck
The best instructional video on how to get your motorcycle into a pickup truck without ruining the bike or yourself.
Heading from Canada to my other home, south Baja on my Scrambler Urban Enduro this June and starting to plan the gear. Did you ever make it? Ever see any Scrambler surf mobiles?
Sorry for the 1-year delayed response! My buddies and I are planning another trip as soon as this COVID thing is reasonably behind us. They want to get Desert Scramblers. I’m still happy with my DR650 and have some new parts to install to make it even better. The Scrambler is better for highway and has a lower seat for getting your feet down when the going gets rough. But as much as I’m a diehard Ducati guy, I’m happy with the DR. I’ll post when we make the trip. Did you go? And no, haven’t seen any Scramblers rigged for serious surf travel, but they would be great!
